| GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS
- Students should bring the Almanac to School everyday.
- Students should come to the school neatly dressed in proper uniform. The shoes should be well-polished. The students should compulsorily wear the I. D. Cards.
- During summer season, students should wear their house uniform on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- Students have to wear winter uniform after the Diwali break. Students need not have to wear their house uniform during winter.
- Students should be punctual to School. 75% attendance is mandatory for the appearance in examination.
- It is compulsory for all to attend the Morning Assembly. No student should sit in class on pretext of illness. If he/she does not feel well, should not come to school.
- Students should not come to school in a self driven vehicle.
- Students are advised to use dustbins and help to keep the classrooms and school campus neat and tidy.
- Students should show respect to school property and should not cause any damage to it.
- Students should not bring any valuables or money to School. School will not be responsible for any loss.
- Cell phones, MP3, I POD, and camera are strictly prohibited. Any student found with these items is liable to strict disciplinary action.
- Students should not lend or borrow any article or money from each other.
- The school motto "Education Renders Politeness" should inspire the students to be polite to others. They should be loving and caring towards juniors and well behaved and courteous to their elders.
- If the student leaves the school early (allowed only in case of illness) and avails the School bus, it is mandatory that he/she informs the Route Incharge.
- Students should submit their note books for correction in time. It is the responsibility of the students to submit the class work and home work on time. The note books will not be corrected if submitted beyond the stipulated time.
- Students should submit their notebooks for correction in time or it will be marked "Late submission".
- Any student found loitering around during the class will be punished.
- It is compulsory to converse only in English in the School premises to acquire a good command over the English Language which is our medium of instruction.
- Students will be suspended if he/she violates the rules of the school.
- It is mandatory that the students should bring their copies during the tests. No student will be allowed to write the test without their test copies.
- Students should not involve themselves in any immoral and unsocial activities like bullying, rude behaviour, gambling, smoking, castism etc. If they find it happening in school, they should inform the Class Teacher or Discipline Incharge at once.
- Students availing leave for more than 3 days should produce the necessary certificate.
- Any student caught using unfair means will be given zero in the test. Repetition of the same offence will result in dismissal.
- Students must come to school regularly and in time, as late comers will be detained at the gate. After two late arrivals he/she will be sent back.
- Students must have a healthy breakfast and carry healthy lunch with them. Do not bring "junk food" in your tiffins.

- Please read the contents of the Almanac carefully and co operate with the school in its proper functioning by ensuring that the School Rules are observed.
- Kindly, see that the almanac is carried by your ward to the school daily and ensure that your ward carries books and note books according to the time-table.
- Check the haircut, nails and uniform of your ward regularly.
- Write name/class on every belonging of your ward including the uniform.Do not allow them to wear expensive watches and jewellery in the school.
- Use this almanac for any communication with the teachers.Acknowledge all the notes sent by the School regularly.
- Please refrain yourself from directly visiting the classroom.Contact at the reception in case of emergency.
- Apply for leave in advance except in case of emergency.
- Inform the school about change in address and telephone number(s) for the safety of your ward.
- Prepare your ward for the Unit Test and check his progress regularly and write to the school about his problems. Your letters will be replied, after discussion with the concerned teacher.
- It is compulsory for the parents to attend the PTM as it gives you the platform to interact with the teachers about the progress of your ward.
- Any query regarding the performance/progress of your ward will not
be entertained if PTM is not attended. - Students suffering from any infectious disease should take rest at
home till the prescribed quarantine period of the disease. - Do not send any gifts to distribute among students on your ward's
birthday. Only toffees should be sent for distribution. - Do not send your ward to school if he/she is not well. Parents are not permitted to take away the child during school hours.
- Parents should not give more than Rs.10/- as pocket money(allowed for Classes IV onwards only) to their wards.School will not be responsible for any loss.
- Please ensure that you give only cheques to your ward to pay their fees.Write name and class of your ward at the back of the cheque.If you give them money in case of emergency or for any Exam, guide them to deposit it in the morning itself or submit with the Class Teacher. School will not be responsible for any loss of money.
- Plan your outings and marriages in your family after seeing the Examination Schedule given in the Almanac.No test or exam will be taken after the scheduled date.
- Kindly submit the fee of your ward in time to avoid any inconvenience on both ends.
- Kindly see that books and note books of your ward are well maintained.
- Date of birth once recorded in the registration form will not be changed.
- Encourage your ward to develop a healthy attitude towards the
Community and the Nation.
TRANSPORT RULES
FOR SCHOOL TRANSPORT USERS - Students can avail School Transport subject to the availability of seats.
- This facility may be withdrawn at any time due to unavoidable circumstances.
- Students will use buses at their own risk.
- Students using school bus are not permitted to travel by any other route, except the Bus Route that has been allotted to them.
- No request for diverting or changing the routes or stop will be entertained.
- Students will be picked and dropped at the same stop.
- Parents are not allowed to travel in the School bus under any circumstances.
- Parents are requested to see that the students are escorted to and from the bus. The escorts should be at the bus stop ten minutes before the expected arrival of the bus.
- No student is allowed to change the bus route without permission.
- Change of address should be immediately informed to school. Change in bus route will be made after one week of receipt of application (subject to availability of bus route)
- If a student is constantly misbehaving in the bus or is found deliberately damaging bus fitments, he/she can be debarred from availing the bus service.
- No request of withdrawal for students studying in Board classes will be accepted from January.
- Transportation fee will have to be paid for 11 months.
FOR STUDENTS NOT AVAILING SCHOOL TRANSPORT - No student below Class IX shall be allowed to use bicycle as a mode of transport to school.
- Bikes and cars are strictly prohibited in the school.
- It is mandatory for the parents to pick up and drop the child to the school on time.

- Children should attend the school regularly. 75% attendance is mandatory for the appearance in examination.
- Students are expected to apply for leaves in advance. In case of emergency he/she should bring the application signed by the parent
on the day of joining. - Students who have been sick should attach a medical certificate along with the application.
- The name of the student will be struck off from the School Rolls if a child absents himself/herself without any application or information for 10 days. Re-admission may be granted after payment of readmission charges only at the discretion of the Principal.
RULES FOR WITHDRAWAL
- Prescribed T.C Form needs to be filled at least a month before. In case of failure to give one months notice, one months Fee will be charged in lieu of the notice.
- Transfer Certificate will be issued after 10 days of submission of duly filled T.C. Form, only after clearing the dues.
- Those who leave the school in May will have to pay the fees for the month of June.
- If you have to withdraw your ward in mid of the session, the dues should be cleared upto the last day of that term.
FEE RULES
- Payments are to be made by cash / cheque / D.D. in favour of "Indus Valley Public School".
- Fee is payable quarterly in advance by the 10th of the first month of the quarter.
- Late Fee will be charged @ Rs. 5/- per day after 10th of the 1st month.
- After 10th no cheque will be accepted (Cash Only).
- Students are liable to be charged full fee as long as their names are officially on the School Rolls. Fees once paid will not be refunded on any account.
- Every student must have all school fees dues cleared in advance before the commencement of the Terminals and Annual Examination, failing which they are liable to be completely disallowed from appearing for the Examination and are liable to have their names struck off the school Rolls.
- The management reserves the right to raise the School's Tuition Fees or any other fee at any time during academic session, if the same is considered necessary. However, at least one calendar month notice will be given.
- The school will not be responsible for loss of fee by any student or parents/guardian within the school premises or outside.
- Transport facility will be withdrawn, if transport fee is not submitted before 10th of the month.
- A dishonoured cheque will be liable for a fine of Rs. 150/- only and late fine as applicable.
- Student's name will be struck off the rolls if the fee along with the late Fee is not deposited in 30 days after expiry of the due date. Readmission may be granted after the payment of re-admission charges, only at the discretion of the Principal.
- Fee booklet should be kept carefully and should be completely filled in all respects while submitting the fee.
- Additional booklet will be charged Rs. 20/-.
- Parents should write student's Name, Class, Roll No. and Admission No. at the back of the cheque positively.
RULES FOR EXAMINATION
- It is mandatory for every student to appear in all the examinations in each subject.
- In case of serious illness parents are requested not to send their ward to school. A medical certificate needs to be submitted along with the application.
- Result declared at the end of the year is final.
- The Exam or test will be held on the given date. No request for taking the exam before or after the given date shall be entertained.
| LIBRARY RULES | | The school library is well stocked and all the students are expected to utilize the library regularly. The aim of the school library is to help students acquire the habit of reading. | | It is suggested that parents should motivate their children to cultivate the habit of reading & to make maximum use of this facility. All classes are being provided with at least one library period per week. | - Students are allowed to borrow books only on their own cards
- They must maintain absolute silence in the library.
- Books, other than reference books, are issued to students once a week on the day fixed for each class.
- Books are issued for a period of one week only.
- If the books are returned late without a valid reason, either the borrowing facility will be withdrawn for two weeks or monetary fine will be imposed.
- Students are expected to take care of the library books. Books marked, disfigured or damaged will have to be replaced or paid for by the borrower
- Personal books or belongings should not be brought to the library.
- Any child found violating the rules and decorum of the library will be debarred from using the library for the entire academic year.
| DISCIPLINARY MEASURES
| Any student found breaking school rules would be dealt with strictly. | | The following suitable disciplinary measure will be adopted to maintain discipline : | - Any student found disobeying school rules would be given two verbal warnings.
- A written warning letter will be issued to the defaulters if discipline is not maintained after verbal warnings.
- If the child does not show any improvement, he/she will be suspended from the school for a week.
- A fine has to be paid if a student makes a damage to school property or scratches the desk or chair.
